The Visualisation Group is responsible for the entire visualisation process, starting at the first 3D-models and ending when the car is to be launched. The group’s main responsible area is to produce material for design decisions, such as images, animations, VR scenes and the final set of visualisation prepared geometry (DigiCar). We are now expanding our ambitions of becoming the best in-house visualisation team in the industry. Now we are looking for the next upcoming start who wants to be part in our team.

As Senior Visualisation Artist you will create fantastic images and animations. You master light setting, texturing, UV-mapping, material creation, tessellation, VR-equipment and everything else that is worth to know to be seen as professional.

Main responsibilities

  • Deliver mind blowing digital images and animations

Required qualifications

  • University, technical college or similar
  • Professional skills in Maya or 3ds Max in combination with Vray
  • Good skills in post-production software like After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop
  • Good skills of real-time visualisation software like Vred and Deltagen is meritorious
  • Have the ability and interest to support our DigiCar creation is meritorious
  • Know how to model soft parts and details in Maya or 3ds Max is meritorious
  • Good knowledge in computers, systems, networks and VR-stuff is meritorious
  • Good skills in Python or MEL is meritorious
  • Good knowledge in post-production is meritorious
  • Interested in photography is meritorious

The Design department is responsible to develop the design for all future models of the Volvo line-up. We are on a journey to take the Volvo brand to a new level in terms of premium perception. We are a team of Exterior Designers with an aim to produce the best in class design for our products. As Senior Exterior Designer you would be working alongside other designers in the early phases of a project (both concept and production) and then if your proposal is selected, work in a smaller team to develop the design for production. You would work with a Senior Design Manager throughout each project and present on a weekly basis to the Vice President of Exterior Design and when appropriate the Senior Vice President of Design. Depending on the projects you could be working on 2 or 3 projects at a time from early sketch ideas to final development. In some phases you will work with digital and clay modelers and studio engineers.

  • Create class leading exterior design
  • Work as a responsible team member and strive to solve design problems
  • Deliver presentations on a weekly basis in a clear and concise way giving creative options for design solutions
  • Work with the modeling team and concept engineers to develop surfaces for each phase of the project
  • Deliver on time and to the quality expected from you

Required qualifications

  • Qualifications in design at degree level in Transportation-, Industrial – or Product Design
  • Skills in Photoshop and if possible 3D modelling tools such as Alias and Maya, etc
  • Several years’ experience in a design studio
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive the velocity of new feature development through the Open edX platform & community.
